USATF Level 2 School in December 2017, Apply Now, Enrollment Limited

Applications for the December 27-31, 2017 Level 2 School at IMG Academy are now being accepted. Coaches can earn USATF Level 2 certification in Endurance or Sprints/Hurdles/Relays during the intense, five-day program. The program provides an advanced, in-depth education in one event group and teaches the science behind the sport through advanced sport science concepts and training principles. The USATF Level 2 Program is certified by the National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) and is guaranteed to challenge and advance your knowledge of the sport.

Applications Available for 2017 USATF/IAAF Academy for Youth or Sprints

The USATF/IAAF Academy returns to IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida, December 3-9, 2017. Earn the highest certification level from USATF and the IAAF in this week-long, high-level program. The USATF/IAAF Academy encompasses the scientific base included in the previous levels, while providing coaches with comprehensive knowledge in a specific event group. The course includes some of the world's best instruction, preparing an individual to coach at the national and international level.

Date: December 3-9, 2017
Event Disciplines: Sprints or Youth Specialization

Eligibility requirements:

  • Coaches living in the United States must have successfully completed the USATF Level 2 Course for the specified event group. For the Youth Specialization event group only, all Level 2 event groups are eligible to apply for entrance.
  • International coaches must have successfully completed the IAAF Coaches Education and Certification System (CECS) Level IV course.
  • Minimum 5 years of coaching experience.
  • All coaches must be actively coaching track & field.

Three (3) $1,620 grants towards tuition and academy expenses are available for qualified applicants, separate application required. Click here for grant eligibility criteria and to submit a grant application.

Fall 2017 Level 1 School Calendar

The Level 1 course is the cornerstone of the USATF Coaching Education Program. It establishes a common ground among coaches by developing a language specific to the track and field coaching community. The program covers all events in a straightforward manner by emphasizing fundamentals, rules, safety/risk management, and instruction techniques.
