USATF-Long Island was founded in 2000 as a member association of USA Track & Field, the governing body of track & field, cross country, long distance running and race walking in the United States. Mission Statement- The mission of Long Island Track & Field is to serve the athletic communities of Nassau and Suffolk counties by providing leadership in training and mentoring of athletes, coaches, and officials while organizing and staging competitive events for track & field, cross country, long-distance running and race walk athletes of all ages and ability levels. LITF provides programs for Youth (7-18 years), Open (19-39 years), and Masters (40 + years) athletes. Each program is further subdivided into age group competitive classes. In addition, LITF has a robust Para-Athletic program for physically and mentally challenged athletes. Para-athletes are also subdivided based on age, gender, and physical or mental impairment. LITF is unique in the athletic world as we practice full inclusion in all our events. Vision Statement- At Long Island Track & Field, our vision is to provide safe, fair, and inclusive competition for youth, open, and masters athletes ages 7 to 100+. We offer educational and competitive opportunities for athletes, coaches, and officials in the sports of track and field, long distance running and race walking. USATF-LI (LITF) is a 501(c)3 corporation, and all donations are deductible to the full extent of the law. Board meetings are held the first Monday of every month except July & August.
